You Had Never Been There Poem by Priyendra Kishore Dutta

You Had Never Been There

You had never been there
And it’s all that I had cared.
It is up to you
To see me through
As you pile up in my heart;
I can be no more smart.

You may not hold my hand;
Time is flying by
As it paints the sky
You see, I understand.

It’s a lonely little world
The sand just slipped
My wings are clipped
I have been sealed & walled.

You see, my all is lost,
I’m freezing in the frost.
Give me warmth of yours
The touch that cures;
I beg you to be here
I’m freed of all my fears.
