You Have Loved Us Poem by Don Nguyen

You Have Loved Us

My Jesus, sometimes you hide from me so that my love is deepened;
Sometimes you let me endure pain so that my faith is strengthened;
Oftentimes I plunge into sacrifice to witness the fire of my love.
My Love, you are the one who has loved first;
I am your servant, who simply follows your footsteps,
Responds to your love.
Someone just said in Google Plus this morning that
If she wants to see how much he has loved
Just looks at her own heart.
It's so true with our love, Lord, for it is genuine and true;
It's so selfless, so heavenly made, so transcending.
You have loved me for you are Love; you had made me for loving;
I love you because you have loved me more than you love yourself.
They just don't know how tenderly I have beheld them in my heart;
Only if they could see the content of my heart,
They would see how much I have loved them.
But with the same logics, they now don't have to go to that extreme;
They simply look into their hearts to measure my love for them by theirs for me.
Lord, you always send me the apparently impossible;
Souls to save where there is no love, just hate,
So that you, through your servant, can transform it into little heaven.
Slowly and so slowly as long as I am patient,
This place like all others, which had come before,
Will turn into the worthy dwelling place where you lay your head;
Then we shall leave our bequest behind to transform the rest.
