You Left On A Light Poem by Mark. A Heathcote

You Left On A Light

The memories of my life
Many of these are dark.
But you left on a light.
You, my angelic angel.
You, my angelic star
You are the memory I think about when I switch off the light.

You are the one star.
I see when I close my eyes.
You are the light.
That shuns the darkness.
Dissolves the rain clouds.
You, my darling, are the light.
When I close my eyes and shut them tight in the night,

You, my darling, are a perpetual light.
A shining torch
A beacon of hope
When I am feeling weak and distraught,
You are the one ray of light.
That can't be bought or destroyed.

The memories of my life
Many of these are satanic and dark.
But you left a light on.
You left on a light.
You are the brightest of all the sunrays, the rainbows.
That ever shone my way
To touch my life

That is why even in the darkest
Of these days, there is still a light on
Even to this day.
When many of my memories are dark.
You, my darling, are a perpetual light.
Touching my heart.

When the night is foreboding,
You are the one star.
I see when I close my eyes.
You are the light.
That shuns the darkness.
Dissolves the rain clouds.
You, my daughter, are the one real light.
I have seen in my whole life.
When I close my eyes tonight.
