You Lit This Blaze Poem by Tim Vallie

You Lit This Blaze

A fire blazes in my soul
This inferno rages out of control
You told me that you loved me
Said you’d never hurt me
Then stabbed me in the back
The pain was so great it felt like a heart attack
Now you want to apologize
Well it’s too late for more lies
I don’t want you in my life
You caused me so much strife
Brought me so much pain
That it’s driven me insane
Now the anger burns like firestorm
Inside I have transformed
Demons caged set free
Inside my mind they call to me
A Dead Man stands where I once stood
Lurking beneath this deep black hood
You lit this fire, you held the torch
Now the whole of my world is scorched
