Once you wanted
to be more
then as middle age
crept up
you found dreams
lay beside
road of living
having been dropped
as just getting by
took over.

Then as tears whelmed
over abandoned dreams
some few seemed
to pull wanting you
to finish at least
a few before old age.

Those few
once given up
now find life
and devotion
that wouldn't have been
at least until
finished or
buried under mid-life crisis.
