You No Longer Need These In Heaven. Poem by David Boyce

You No Longer Need These In Heaven.

When we live this earthly life,
We leave with nothing but our dignity,
The knowledge you gained you take with you,
And any illness you're now free.

Any money you made don't matter,
Neither does a home or type of car,
You leave this life with nothing,
Other than the memories of who you are.

Be thankful for what you had in life,
And what knowledge you can pass on,
Once your earthly life has ended,
Unshared knowledge will be gone.

Your wealth and belongings get shared,
Amongst your family and friends,
You no longer need these in heaven,
When this earthly life ends.

Nothing physical can be taken with you,
It is simply not allowed,
You leave this earthly life as you entered,
There are no pockets in a shroud.
