You Promised Me Poem by Jessie Lima

You Promised Me

When you look at me what do you see?
I wish you would say:
My destiny.
You promised to give me the moon,
I only wanted love.
Too late, we're all doomed...
There's no light at night up above.
You promised me money,
You do notice they are killing trees?
Too late my love, too late.
I started to think it is fate.
You love me, or so you say
So why are you killing me this way?
There's no more light,
no more pure air,
But you don't see... or don't you care?
Just promise me your love
It is only fair.
