You’re Finally Gone Poem by Lana May Hamlin

You’re Finally Gone

I don’t want to think about you every time I come here
I don’t want to think about the things we did
I just want to move about this town freely
Without holding back a single tear
I don’t want to remember the heartache when I go past your house
I don’t want to fight back the urge to scream
I’m so tired of all this tension
I’d be lying if I told you I’m happy your not here
Without you I feel the relief of all the drama
Without you I can do anything and know you have no say in it
Without you here I feel so free
I can be with whomever I choose
I can smile without expecting a single tear
I’m so much better off without you
So why do I long to have you here?
