You'Re Gone Poem by Alice Cole

You'Re Gone

I am sorry I didn't know
That you don't care
I'm sorry it didn't show
That you weren't there

So here we are again
With me begging on my knees
You turn away as I plead
Please oh please

And so I curse love
A feeling I knew
Back than I was up above
And now we're through

‘Cause I fell in the night
I fell hard
And know it goes back
Away into the light

Don't leave me alone
Oh don't go and then
You turn around
And I'm left alone again

The door shuts behind you
The wind blows
As the hole within me
Grows and grows

I love you I say
And turn away
I try to hide this burning desire
Try to go against fire with fire

‘Cause I fell in the night
I fell hard
And know it goes back
Away into the light

I try to hide
Try to steal
Try to conceal
All the things that I feel

I try so hard to regret
To hate
I want to turn around
And lock this gate

Lock away the memories of me and you
Try to forget how it felt
When I thought it was true
All I can do know is look back and cherish
Hope the memories do not diminish

‘Cause I fell in the night
I fell hard
And know it goes back
Away into the light

Don't leave me alone
But you're already gone
Don't leave me here
But you aren't even near

‘Cause I fell in the night
I fell hard
And know it goes back
Away into the light

And now it's gone
And I'm left all alone
