You Said You Were A Friend Poem by Anywhere but here

You Said You Were A Friend

You said you were a friend,
but it seems like just pretend
You opened up a door for me,
and let me walk right in to see.
How much a like we are.

I poured out my heart to you,
and you gave me back some too.
I thaught it was sincere
but you made it very clear.
That your path is now lonestar.

So your wishes I'll respect,
but with a heavy heart affect.
I get the picture now.
I'll leave and take a bow,
but not without a scar.
