You Tell Me That Poem by Kris Templin

You Tell Me That

You tell me that you love me and want to be with me but all I get are
excuses why things can not be done
You tell me that you want me to trust you, but give me a reaason why I should trust you? ...
You tell me that things are going to be different, but in what way will things be different? ... you still bring up my past and what I have done so wrong but I have paid my time for the wrongs I’ve done.
You tell me that a life with you would be an interesting ordeal but when you really look at it is it worth all the heartache and the pain of reliving the past mistakes I’ve done in my life.
You tell me that it is my fault for me coming out here and starting over but how is that my fault when you asked me to come out here to be with you I did what you asked of me and I get the abuse form you.
You tell me that the gambling you do is my fault but man you have to take some responablity for your actions and put the balme where it belongs I can not make you gamble, drink or be abusive that is a choice you made all on your own.
You tell me that you’re not like the others who have hurt me in the past either by words, mentally, or physically you bring my firnds into our fights every chance you get then the mind games begin to start been there done that need a change.
