You Told Me Poem by Adam Rubenstein

You Told Me

you told me you loved me day in and day out,
you held me so lovely day in and day out.
we shared out happiness day in and day out.
then that day you told me it wasn't working out.
had no rhyme nor reason, just a metaphorical get out
i tried to reach you, since you wouldn’t talk
you never express these emotions before?
so what was it that you saw?
did you see that you lied to me?
you said you were real, and never felt these feelings you feel

lost in confusion, your love was an illusion, and now its abusing my every movement.
