You Took Me Poem by Stephen Carey

You Took Me

We said goodbye again.
We both walked away.
You took a piece
Of me with you.
You have all of me,
And you don't even know it.

We talked more than
We have in a long time.
I tried so hard
To say your name
And to give you your gift,
But I just had to go.

It is very amazing,
Just that you said goodbye.
Usually, I would hate to hear that word,
But when it's the only word
You have heard in forever,
It is at least a word.

You have all of me.
This nothing on the couch
Is indeed a nothing.
I will stay nothing
Until I see you again.
You have all of me.
