You Were Wearing Pink Poem by Yiling Ding

You Were Wearing Pink

I'm scared to sleep at night.
More than once,
you've appeared in my dreams.
(Yesterday night,
you told me you were gay.)
And so when I wake up
in the morning, I can't stop
thinking of you
even though you're so far away
and it's so damned bad for me.
(Saturday night,
I dreamed that you came for me.
You were wearing pink.)

But consciousness is even more
painful,
Because when I'm awake
my mind keeps blasting me
with painful pangs of
missing you.
I don't want to stay awake anymore.
Stop appearing in every face
I see
on my way to class!

Last night I told myself
that I'd get over you.
I believed it then.
I'll say the same thing
to myself again today
(like I've been doing
every day for the past
God-knows how many months)
and for now,
I believe I will.

the subconcious mind will never leave us alone, when we are on the wrong tracks...great work, so expressive and for now, it's the only way to proceed. Take care, and another very good piece of your heart in perfect poetry. Good to have found you, Tai
