Who was I to think
That someone like you
Could do something so
Drastic as to change
And what is worse
Is to think that
You would do it
For someone like me
What was I thinking
When I conceived
The notion that
Someone like you
Would ever be willing
To do as to change
Who you are as a person
Even if it were for the better
Love is not enough to
Make you open your eyes
And see what you need to
That in order for love to prevail
I guess that I learned
My lesson is that
No matter what
You will never change
