You Will Not Silence Me Poem by breanna givens

You will not silence the epigram used to show what I believe,
The progression in ambitions only I can achieve,
Illusions and confusions in life won’t stand me down,
Because the voice of integrity I speak will asound

You will not intercept the uprising intellectuals I call out to my peers, making sure the message strong and loud for everyone to hear,
Nor will my goals be unachieved because they are destined to be,
I’ll come intense and loud, you will not silence me! ! !

The statistics set out for my kind won’t determine who I will become,
I am an intelligent black woman and won’t be a labeled one,
I intend to inform all people with my honest words,
So they too can make a statement, to reach out and be heard,
Making signs, messages and all for you to see,
I’ll come intense and loud, you will not silence me! !
