You Won'T Be Mine Poem by Peter Slack

You Won'T Be Mine

I walked out your door knowing in time,

that you wouldn't be mine.

But what could I do knowing that you didn't

feel the same way too?

I remember all of those nights sleeping with

you by my side holding you tight,

knowing in time you wouldn't be mine.

I hear you found someone new, are you going

to break his heart too?

Does he make you feel the way I use too?

Does he make you smile like I use to make

you smile?

Look in your heart and see if you can find

the remains of you and I and a reason why

you wouldn't be mine.
