Your Absence Poem by Skye Figueroa

Your Absence

Where you used to be, there is a hole in the world, which I find myself constantly walking around in the daytime and falling in at night.
I ask myself: How can I forget you when you're always on my mind?
The answer: It's like trying to remember someone you never met.

But I know that in time my heart will harden like the frozen world which your absence has banished me to. And the thought frightens me.

I ask myself: How can I let you go when I cant see us apart?
I'm still waiting for the answer.

Bottom line: Missing you is the heartache that never goes away.
