Your Blood Poem by Ezekiel Johnson

Your Blood

If something was ever so precious
It will be nothing but your blood
If someone was ever so gracious
It will be you for the gift of your blood

If this body of mine get ever so weak
I know you will not leave me alone
If sin’s tentacles pin me down so weak
I know your precious blood will atone

How strong and precious is your blood
How deep it flows into my wearied veins
Heaven’s downpour of that wonderful blood
Has washed away my tears and pains

How gently if flows down your riven side
Healing the wounded and the sick
Hope and peace in it fully abide
Healing the nations, strengthening the quick

If ever I would sing a love song
It will be of you for the gift of your blood
In endless psalms, saying how long
I hope to swim in that eternal flood

If something looked ever so eye – catching
It will be your cross for the flow of that blood
Inviting the nations to your side, so touching
Into the stream of that precious blood

Precious is the flow of that blood
Painting the walls of human hearts with love
Pure love written with the ink of your blood
Purchasing souls for your kingdom above

Painfully, but with love it dripped
Peace and love to all the nations it brought
Preparing those hearts into which it dripped
Pure and holy for the kingdom you bought
