Your Demise Poem by Karen Espinoza

Your Demise

You Demise

Every time you say- I love you
every time you say you care,
every time you make a promise
that you swear you will be there...
Every time you don't come home
because drinking is more important
and everything you've promised to do
and still haven't,
The heartbreak it causes, I can't explain
and what hurts the most
I'm not talking about my pain
I see the hurt-when I look in their eyes,
I want you to know-this is the beginning
of your demise
I have had enough,
I can't let you continue to hurt them
and it's up to me
to put a stop all this mayhem,
They love you dearly
that's what makes this so sad-
that the pain in their eyes,
is caused by their dad.
