Your Facebook Page Poem by Khalid Rawat

Your Facebook Page

After many years, your face appeared
No where else, but on the facebook,
Its the only clue of your existence that I have
in a long long time!

It would've been impossible for me to recognize you,
If your pic didn't have your name!
For the years have rusted my memory,
Though your beauty is still the same!

What relationship you have with your facebook page?
Is it merely a worthless piece of paper,
Or you are bound to it, like my eyes are spell-bound to it now? For, It has your name and face on it.
You visited here a year ago, this elfin abode!
And it haunts me when I think, that you will never again!

And now I am wandering in this lonely house:
On its walls there are pics of your family and friends,
All silent but speaking in their comments,
Written beneath your pics like graffitti
On the walls of an excavated city.

'Are you there? ' I am calling your name, typing messages.
'Ah! but will you ever respond? ' I think as my gaze
persists on your pic.
'Perhaps she'll return, but will she answer my messages? '
'No! She will not! '
'But then what I gained from visiting this page! '
'A place to recluse in the times of distress!
Though no one will ever visit here again! '
