Your Greatest Friend Poem by Francis Duggan

Your Greatest Friend

It is only in a dog for it's master such devotion you will find
Unconditional love is not of human kind
You may lose the love of your husband or your partner or wife
But your dog will be your friend until the end of it's life
For a few pats and a walk and a good feed every day
Your dog as your best friend for it's lifetime will stay
It's unconditional love to you it does give
And remains your trusting friend for as long as it does live
They were quite in love in their physical prime
But their love it did not stand the test of time
Though in the same home today they do reside
The love that they had for each other has died
But your dog does still love you and will until it's life does end
As your canine companion and your greatest friend.
