Your Love Is Like A Springtime Morning Poem by Philip Woods

Your Love Is Like A Springtime Morning

Your love is like a springtime morning, all
Asplendent in the glow a rising sun
Will bring to those who share its shine and shun
The shade 'till night has caused the light to fall.

I rise to greet your radiance and sprawl
Across the earth to marvel what you've done.
I see a shadow grow, so west I run
I want your gaze until I wear a pall.

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
My love for you knows not another phrase
Your soft caress has set my world ablaze.
My love, I'll say this 'til the final ray:

You make me want to jump and shout with glee.
Your love gives energy eternally.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote most of this poem while sitting at a poetry jam. The juices just start to flow at these events, and I have to write something down. The poem is addressed to no one in particular. I just wanted to write a love poem.
