Your Passing (Ross) Poem by Sean Toland

Your Passing (Ross)

Sorrowfilled days but I know your near,
Your pain is lifted, have no fear,
We watched you relax and drift away,
Your at peace now, I am glad to say,

No more chemo dance, no more hiding the pain,
For the rest of us, we will not feel the same,
Your watching us now, that I must believe,
Your angel wings now, you must receive,

Never leave us alone, with your watching eye,
And you stop my tears if I start to cry,
A memorable man, a remarkable figure,
When your frame was weak, your heart got much bigger,

A gentle lad, and a lovable man,
Help us get on with life as best we can.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
(07-05-2010) Ross was my best friend, we met when we were first dropped down beside each other in a big mountain of sand, which was later used to help in the building of his families home, across the street from my own. Ross was a very mature being in comparison to his friends (myself included) He was the voice of reason and the ear of compassion, he was a saintly character and in his life time I had never heard him raise his voice. It's also fair to say that he didn't have any enemies. He was stricken down with a very unusual type of cancer, he was giving weeks to live, but battled and battled and lasted almost 1 and half years fighting this horrible disease. He passed away on the 5th May 2010, aged 24, leaving behind him, a loving family, and many many friends.
