Your Son My Rock

Within Your strength each day anew
I rise at Your command
A servant to the bride and You
A tool within Your hand

I'm more than blessed to know these things
To witness things You've done
With all my heart my soul just sings
My praises of Your Son

Your Son; my Rock Your living Christ
Creator God on high
The Lamb in love You sacrificed
That man need never die

But still I failed and walked in shame
For which I've no excuse
I pray forgive in Jesus' name
My grieving soul to loose

Relieve my God this aching heart
I know You truly care
Please let Your presence not depart
In answer to my prayer

Allow no darkness dwell inside
No angel of the night
No foolish thought no selfish pride
To cloud Your guiding Light

For there alone thrives truth and love
Sweet joy and wondrous peace
Such hope and faith to rise above
Where life will never cease

Its You my Lord and You alone
The Triune One divine
The God who came as flesh and bone
To make life's Promise mine

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Dear Michael, an excellent poem at this time of Lent; a reminder of our weakness and the need to cling to a Rock. I am the publisher of The North East Poetry Journal (Quarterly) and would welcom some of your poems for the coming issue in May. I live in Lanchester, Durham. Copies of the Poetry Journal are distributed to 10 libraries in the Sunderland area. I hope to read more of your poems. Please feel free to comment on my two recent poems, and others, (Mother of Joy and Sorrow, and The Soul) Regards Isam Hussain
