Your Trials - Poem by Timmy Tubbs

So I’ll walk through these trials because
By now she doesn’t trust herself to trust
She would be happy to know
My mind dances around those
God damn green eyes

I’m glued to your pattern of elimination
Fist things first, meet Emily then tell Tom so
Tom can talk to Emily and I know
Its all been done before but guess what
My feet are stuck in the sands of your shore

She is panicky and scared because
She really doesn’t know what she found
She is worried about the fact that
I could only tighten her noose
Not help her down

We run into it trying not to think about thinking
But all we think about is thinking about thinking
I so want to be the net that catches all of your
They can confuse things all the time because
It’s the only way to express to a new person. But hey
Don’t dwell too much

I so want to meet the people who inspire you
She will have me so moved by the time she is done
Due to complications, we contemplate the leap because
Who knows
That fuckin’ step is tricky,
It’s probably only two feet down
Hey, turn that frown upside down because
No matter how far we fall
I’ll break it

Your heart, yeah your heart
It’s just laying there all in pieces because
It’s too fuckin’ hard to put together and
Who knows if it’s missing parts
Mines fucked up to though so
I’ll help piece yours together with the extra pieces of mine because
Mine doesn’t need to be as big as it was and
Besides, mine isn’t in splinters like yours

And hey! Why do you smile so big?
Is it because you can honestly agree that you’re a good person because
You are
So beautiful when you’re sleeping on your left side and
I’ve been meaning to talk to you about that because
We should switch bedsides so
I can stare at those god damn green eyes
