Your Weakest Flaw Poem by Kerri White

Your Weakest Flaw

Rating: 5.0

I think we’re made to miss
Anyone who once held us
Because there was a time,
No matter how short or how selfish,
That they were the first thought of a morning,
The smile to keep you going in the middle of the day,
And the reason behind such sweet dreams at night.
Things can change
And you can wrap yourself inside
A whole new life, but don’t pretend
That you could console yourself
If an instance occurred that made you
Relive the memory of the ones you once adored
You’ll always believe
You can redeem yourself in someone else
By “feeling” the exact same way,
Saying the exact same things,
And smiling the exact same smile.
Sometimes fake becomes your only realism

You believe it’s possible
To radically redesign your feelings,
And I believe that’s the verge
Of a common heartache of self-destruction,
But I’m willing to watch you reassemble yourself
Within the love of someone else
If you think that’ll help you to remain a little longer.
You’re only as strong as your weakest flaw
