Yourman? Poem by Cathrine GunterEllis

Yourman?

Rating: 0.5

Yo girl

Yo man don’t love you like you think
But one glimpse at him and your so naïve

Hints the late nights, thoughts of him lying
And deep down inside your conscience is fighting

With all the things that could be real
Trying to be strong, trying to chill

However, you know that he has your heart
But he’s not running only to your arms.

And the worst part is that he might be father
However, you are not the one who is the mother.

Therefore, what is a woman to do?
You have been through everything with this man

If in matrimony, he asked your hand
Why does it seem like he’s less the man

Then the one you first meet you don’t understand

If he loves you then what other purpose does she serve?
Your heartache can’t be put in words

You want to kill him and then again cry
All your love is melting inside

Yo husband, yo lover, yo companion yo friend
Is not only yours…has he ever been?
