Yours And Mine Poem by Paul Seay

Yours And Mine

                   Yours and Mine

I remember the day's silence, -our dreams open and wide. A voice then rang your name aloud, through a doorway -hinged in time.
It closed away your laughter, and the love of yours, and mine.

Oh God -whom parted seas, -How I pray you part the sky, so through the door they'd pass; -and turn my water to wine.

It may be much to ask, from Heaven and earth's divide, but lend your hand, oh Lord, alas  -guide me for a moment, to that veiled other side...

I promise not to spy upon your golden paradise, imagining  mountains of majesty, -from the master-King's design. Lead me once again to their laughter left behind -lead me as your child and friend, through the streets of lands divine.

Then lie me down beside the flowing fields of wheat, blowing blonde by the breeze, -and breath of Heavenly sleep. It's there that souls awaken by the closing of an eye;  it's where your hand I've taken, -with the love of yours and mine.

The silence has finally found me, -or at least my dreams once more, -for angels rain down happy tears, and drown the river's roar. The King released my hand, and reached the door of time; it creaked again, -as did their voice -I swore he parted the sky...

I vowed to not look onward in his Eden above the stars, but love again got in the way, -coming so; so far without a cause. I thought then I'd pretend, and barely raise an eye, to see the one's I've loved and lost, -whom were called through the doors of time.

But I knew the King saw all, within the crystal of his throne, it reflected every creation -even the wants of my own. He then spoke aloud, "use thy sight my child, this too is your home.... my door is always open, you shall never wait in line, I made this land for every soul; and the love of yours and mine".

I then met my memories within the parted sky, with man, woman, and animal -that touched me throughout life. The most beautiful thing however, I had not to say goodbye, for here we'd be together, on the day to step inside.

No longer lies a mystery in that veiled other side, it will arise again.... Amen, for the love of yours and mine...
