WHAT they undertook to do
They brought to pass;
All things hang like a drop of dew
Upon a blade of grass.
I thank thee, friend, for the beautiful thought
That in words well chosen thou gavest to me,
Deep in the life of my soul it has wrought
With its own rare essence to ever imbue me,
"Do you give thanks for this? -- or that?"
No, God be thanked
I am not grateful
In that cold, calculating way, with blessing ranked
- My Gratitude to My Co -Poets-
I was sad for not sharing the voice
I can renounce all worldly pleasures
To strengthen our bond
Your love, care and concern are my treasures
Which precipitate a coating around
It's a curious time of year -
one day warm and sunny, mild,
the next cold and rainy;
one night frosty, the next night mild;
I bought an expensive saree for you,
And again you did the same,
You critised my like as usual,
And broke my heart into pieces,
All are indebted much to thee,
But I far more than all,
From many a deadly snare set free,
And raised from many a fall.
If gratitude a poor man's virtue is,
'Tis one at least my sick soul can afford.
Bankrupt I am of all youth's charities,
Accept My Gratitude
She is so sweet and so beautiful to appreciate
Surrounded by white colours in a sweet mood
Enthralled by intoxicated style let me just wait
Grateful was hard for me to be,
I had no idea what it meant,
I knew it was beyond thankful,
but had no one to be thankful to yet.
A voice in my heart shining
Singing, dancing, anticipating
Calming down all the chaos
My Savior, Amida Buddha
Gratitude is not just a word, but a way of life. Its living each second, each minute, each hour and each day expressing appreciation to God through praise and giving thanks for all that we have and all that we don't have. It's going through life knowing that there is always something to thank God for - no matter the circumstances. Gratitude is thanking God in the midst of problems, having faith that he is the solution. To live each day knowing that we should never take anything for granted since everything is here to bless us. Waking up every day with a thankful heart and not wait for something good to happen to say thank you God. Knowing that each breath we are blessed with has a purpose and offers us an opportunity to serve God and be grateful to experience God's endless presence all around us. Gratitude is knowing that each day is a day that the Lord has made and we must rejoice and be glad in it.
Gratitude is a lovely beach at the end of a long spring day
Uncommonly blue lifeguard tower still boarded up standing sentinel
Small but longboard rideable waves wrapping the point
Seagulls worrying over scraps and wrappers left behind
This Thanksgiving, much of the world including US is carrying a bag of emotions more intense than any other years in my memory. So many families are overloaded with sadness and grief.
At times like these we come together as a whole with compassion and empathy for all.
Smoke rising over our city
The most recent wildfire
Reminding us of our tentative relationship with nature
The wild and volatile interface
Writing a poem is not about bringing some words together to create some charming sentences. It's so much deeper than that. Writing poetry is a bridge that allows people to express their feelings and make others live every single word they read. Poetry is to educate people, to lead them away from hate to love, from violence to mercy and pity. Writing poetry is to help this community better understand life and live it more passionately. PoemHunter.com contains an enormous number of famous poems from all over the world, by both classical and modern poets.
