The illiterate poet
Painted his passionate ballad
With the colors of the rainbow
Both happy and sad


Without using a pen
He wrote
Without making words
He spoke


People braced themselves
For a miracle to happen
Waiting as the mute delves
For words to say


As the clock ticked by
And no words came out
As the people waved goodbye
He stood to shout


Inaudible words
Because he was
Nothing but
A mute
