Poison Lily

Poison Lily Poems

What's in a name?
A life yet to be... A future not reached?
Like a tightrope walker taut on a line
between falling or not. to be or not to be?
...

Like the whisper of a selfish past
like the cloud just out of reach
like the execution that still lingers
no matter how th emothers beseach
...

Is there not one sun in my world?
No rays to warm a wintry day?
Not a peep of a golden halo through clouds
that shadow beneath, the earthen way
...

There's a soul stuck within that glassdoll
clear as air, yet solid as reality
Inconsistant, the evershifting gales
Wishing, Pleading, to break free
...

How precious is too precious, just
too wonderful to keep?
Too precious to see the light of sun, or
hear laughter in its purest form
...

A bird has wings, a fish's fins
A kitten has a tail
But what have I? A human child
Weak soft, and frail
...

Robed in dark swathes of night
A clever, lightfooted raven took flight
A gleam in her eyes searched her prey
Leaving behind striken disarray
...

What's In A Name

What's in a name?
A life yet to be... A future not reached?
Like a tightrope walker taut on a line
between falling or not. to be or not to be?
That is the question.
Is it a story? a grande story
of slaying dragons, to kess a damsel in distress
Happily ever after...or not?
A beginning or ending we've forgot.
A proposal, one or two ridiculous ideas.
Yes, those crazy, zany, unapreciated bundle of thoughts.
You can't feel nor see
waiting to break free.
What's in a name?
What's in those jumble of letters, in order or not.
Like bugs, scrawled, of shapes and sizes.
Or is it not the ABC's
but the spaces in between?
