Oh! The golden history of India
Starting from the Mauryas
Where Arthashastra to India was taught
...

The arrogant clouds who never bow down
Are modestly searving the earth
The barren lands, ever brown
Are marking greenery's birth

Oh! The golden history of India
Starting from the Mauryas
Where Arthashastra to India was taught
To the Guptas,
Where kings like Chandragupta fought
From the Gita, that Shri Krishna spoke
To the Gitanjali that Rabindranath wrote
From the North where Tansain sang
To the the West
Where the cry of 'Jai Shivaji' rang
From the South where
Subramanyam 'Bhartiyar' fought for his ground,
To the East
Where From novels like 'Anandamath',
'Vande Mataram' could be sung aloud
But as to the history of India,
Partition and disunitedness met,
To the golden colour,
Something black was set
United India was torn apart
Exchange of bullets and blood's mart
Since then uncountable soldiers were shot,
Some asleep bodies were dropped at their homes,
Some were left in the battlefield to rot
Baghdadi, ISIS, every group is set
Ready with the guns to make,
The golden history, with blood wet
Astonished my ears, heart and brain were,
When I heard, by killing people, pleasure they get
Can India and its people ever forget,
The black day of 26/11 it met,
When with blood the earth was red
Can those mothers be ever sane,
By losing their sons, get the worst pain
Such has become the present age
Once golden, now with terror,
Writing with blood and hatred
