Washed

A long year
A longer month
And a week that seemed to blur.
A Saturday spent during chores,
Emotions washed off.
Like the perpetual tides that erode the shores of life,
Time has taken its toll.
The same monotony of life,
Tormenting its victim
Holding him hostage.
And all for
A ransom that can't be paid.
