Feel the heart drain of its soul's precious life,
Within the scorn and deceit of man's hate.
Doomed to this gossip, this slander, this strife,
Doomed to the putressence of this cruel fate.
The sickness of the world, now clearly known.
Lies, pinned upon the ones we used to trust.
An' praise to the devil, now clearly shown;
'Give in', says He. 'Give in to all thine lust'.
But still have I faith, the bloodthirst will end.
Still have I faith, this fear, will leave, will fade,
To hold hand and hand, and neighbour, our friend.
The devil himself; some pitiful shade.
How can I say we have nothing to fear? !
When ev'ry day I feel hell drawing near...
