Cancer

It spread to her throat,
My poor dear sister Katie had cancer.
Tears rolling down my cheek,
My heart is pounding like a drum.
People come up to me to say, "I'm sorry."
I don't feel normal anymore.
There is a piece missing from the puzzle of my life,
And I am afraid it won't come back.
She is hooked up to wires,
Like a puppet on strings,
She can't even speak and neither can I.
My parents are trying not to lose it,
They tell me and Allison
Everything is going to be ok.
Me and Allison are alone,
And afraid of what will happen
To patient in the bed we call Katie.
