The Last Hug

I haven't seen you, my son since long
The thought of you in my faltering days
Makes my heart throb with pain
I still yearn for your sight
And hold you in my frail hands
But I can't, I'm weak
I want to hug you before I die
I want to dwell in the plump feeling of the baby
That I so much cuddled in the past
I yearn for your chubbiness
I think of the past days while holding you in my arms
Peering into your eyes and your innocent smile
I hoped for the rosy future days
You r cherubic look still lingers in my eyes
I hardly forget those hopeful days
That you will be beside me during my last days
But alas! All in vain!
Forgive me if I hurt you in my past
I am oblivious of the pain caused in my ignorance
It gives me a lump in my throat
When I think of you
The warm rolling drops on my cheek s
Often calm s my ailing heart
The magic potion before my fearsome death
Is to hug you before my last breath
