Deja Vu

DEJA VU - by Ramona Nizar © 16/5/12
Have you ever felt lonely though you are in the midst of a maddening crowd?
Do you feel a sense of disconnect; when even total silence seems too loud?
Have you felt the urge to run away: thoughts of escape paramount?
Do you scream "I want out! " silently to walls enclosing; too high to surmount?

Are you at your best delving into matters cabalistic, esoteric & sublime?
Do you feel as one with mystics: thrill, when cryptic matters are solved & facts align?
Are the highs worthwhile: once secrets revealed, making your heart glow?
Do you know deep within, the past is reaching out; beckoning you back through a hidden door?

Can you see flashbacks of history: things that happened eons & eons ago?
Do you have a sense that somehow, somewhere, you've been there, done that, before?
Can you hear voices historic: noble, inspiring & at time frightening, in your ears roar?
Do you see the battles fought; parades of victory march by & hear eloquent orations soar?

Did you blow the horn at Yahweh's command and watch the invincible walls of Jericho fall?
Were you amazed when mighty Goliath, with a humble sling, brave David defeat and maul?
Did you hear the Sermon on the Mount, and dine with Jesus when hungry five thousand He fed?
Were you at the foot of the cross; despondent, when for us the beloved Master bled?

Were you there with marauding Mongols, when mighty Genghis ruled a terrified world?
Did you march with Caesar and with Octavian watch as o'er the world Pax Romana unfurled?
Were you at Great Alexander's side, when he sobbed, ‘'No more worlds to conquer and behold?
Did you with glorious Ramses rule; sceptre and flail in hand; donned in crown of lapis and gold?

Would you think someone mad, delusional, spiritually lost, if they said they did do all that?
Do you believe in Déjà vu, which doth defy common sense, logic & scientific fact?
Would you shake your head in shock disbelief, that more and more propagate exactly that?
Do you know that some have lived more lives than one; though to most it seems absurdly abstract?
