Looking Back At Ourselves
Looking Back At Ourselves ❒ Ranak Zaman
(Translated By Jewel Majhar)
An endless meaninglessness lies before me.
So I look back
Look at my back and see
Our monkey-faced forefathers
Who stood in the past.
Countless, numberless forefathers.
Having our images within
Their eyes- - as smooth as mirrors- keep on gazing.
And they might be contemplating...
Ah, their offspring exactly learnt to imitate
The gestures and acting of humans...
Speechless and mute they don't utter anything.
This silence is like a new language
Rich in grammar.
