Running down the icy, snow covered road,

Chris

There I was,
on vacation,
...

Tapping fingers on wife and daughters hand,
lips puckered,
shade covered eyes,
simmering,
...

I am a boy,
the size of a man,
bound down,
I break free,
...

The woman stood solid,
pushing against a wall,
behind the shield marched,
armed and uniformed men,
...

Popping bacon grease in a pan,
it was Sunday,
mom, step dad and I seated at the table,
sis pushed back her chair,
...

A dropp of me falls into the sea,
washed upon the shore,
I knock on your door,
poured onto rocks,
...

Here, at the turn of time,
We speak,
Hear me when I say,
No more!
...

Give a soldier a gun,
he will forget his tongue.
No rules,
this thing called war,
...

His cuff links glisten against the white pallor of his sleeves,
wrist watch too, moves light,
as he drinks Scotch from a frosted glass,
an ice cube pierces his lip as amber spills down his throat,
...

Through the veil of bare branched trees,
lies a patch of frost on the wind chilled lake.

The birds remain, drifting along unfrozen gaps,
...

Robots, robots,
empty, ticking, clicking,
machines,
soldiers, soldiers,
...

Gasping,
for the sightless quality out there,
that I need,
streaming through each of two inflatable balloons,
...

The range of emotions,
a sliding scale,
triggered by response to experience.
Some have felt more of one,
...

My heart,
full, round and Macintosh red,
bobs,
lifted into the air,
...

Far from the borders of my world,
and his known place,
of being,
a man, once a boy,
...

Face paint,
the brush tip dipped in blood,
horse hairs tickle my cheeks, bridge and chin,
as crimson red trickles down the swells,
...

18.

Crushed are the grains from
the bobbled kernels grazing the wind.
Ground to powder,
so soft,
...

Seven, young girl
I see you, smiling
on the front page,
malnourished,
...

So filled with you,
I am lost.

The Best Poem Of Rashida Mack

Lost Innocence

Running down the icy, snow covered road,
we ran,
laughing,
you looking back,
as I chased.

Rounding the bin,
you jumped on the back of a reindeer drawn wooden carriage.
As it stalled,
elated at the catch,
I am upon you,
and then I see,
so close to home,
the reindeer's antlers have become entwined with the branches of the tree,
crowd gathering round,
you sitting calm,
we watch as a fireman from the bricked and arched station across the street
straightens both out.

From behind,
I soothe the hearty haired dark deer with strokes,
once freed, he turns his head and bites for my wrist.
It's my watch he wants as I watch him clamp his teeth
around the head,
crushing time.
