REBECCA OMIDO Poems

I miss being a child
No one cared how you dressed
No one cared about your looks.
We were all friends and you could be yourself.

When i smiled,
i wanted you to smile with me....
When i cried,
i wanted u to catch my tears, drop by drop.
...

...the peace....
....the soothing whisper
of the gigantic
handsome trees...
...

Its only in dreams
where we do what we want to
meet whom we want to
talk to whoever we want to

I Miss Being A Child

I miss being a child
No one cared how you dressed
No one cared about your looks.
We were all friends and you could be yourself.
We played together in the rain and seemed not to fear anything except darkness....

I Miss being a child.
I remember it all like it was yesterday.
I remember playing in the mud..
I remember Soaking my uniform in water so as to skip school the next day.
I remember swearing not to have licked sugar when it was allover my face.
I remember all this and much more.
Naughty Naughty Childhood....

I miss being a child
I miss skipping rope.
I miss hide and seek.
I miss climbing trees to look for wild fruits.
I miss singing in church.
I miss molding clay by the riverside to form a thousand magical shapes.
It all happened so fast...and i grew up.
The memories....so sweet.........so real......
All in the name of childhood....
I truly miss being a child
