You Are There

The Chronicles of Narnia and other bedtime reads,
If I really want a hug or have any other needs…
You are there you are there,
And that isn't something rare

When I mess up or when I do something wrong,
You encourage me when I'm weak, reminding me to stay strong…
You are there you are there,
You say a little prayer

When I got tired of walking you would put me on your shoulders,
And still as the years pass and as I get a little older
You are there you are there,
You truly do care

Through all of my experience this is one thing that I know,
I remember you were there, there to watch me as I grow.
I remember you were there, because I was there too,
I remember I did nothing to deserve a daddy like you.
