The Darkness Commands

It's not just in the dead of the night,
Not just with the rising if the sun,
It can be any minute, any day, the time that Darkness comes.
It may leave you with a single thought,
Just go get the gun…just go get the gun.

Life may interject diversions,
Some seemingly giving light.
Yet you know for as long as you breathe
That nothing will be right.
You may sometimes get outside of yourself,
You may even seem to have some fun,
But it will always come back to you and yourself,
The Darkness number one.
He pulls no punches, He calls it straight,
The Darkness grows tired of the wait.
He offers one thought to change your fate,
Just get the gun…Just get the gun.

People come and people go,
Your life a revolving door.
People can't handle your pain, the Darkness,
So you're left alone with Him once more.
If even someone should choose to stay you know your time is short.
the question can't be answered "Why? ",
Your lone way out, His way, to die.
The Darkness pushes, "It's well within your reach,
the solution to your pain. We all know that those of light are only temporary,
Their light is sure to wane.".

The pain wreaks havoc, shredding your heart,
Or the shell of what once was.
The light is out and no one is home, it's what the Darkness does.
It beats you around, it keeps you down,
And leaves you begging for relief.
But beg all you like, you'll never be right, only others deserve peace.
Peace; you'll never have it, you'll only destroy it,
And all deserve relief from you.

The darkness says there's only one way out,
no more pain, nothing left to do.
It's just right there, right on the table,
Reach for it, if painful only brief.
Take the gun
End the pain
Take the gun
The Darkness reigns
Take the gun
Release all others
Take the Gun
Release yourself
Take the gun, aim,
You are worthless as a man
