    This is a very touching poem. As a retired member of the military when I see someone trying to help one of the many members of the armed forces that currently have PTSD I then know what they are doing is not in vain. Thank you Risa for caring.

Ptsd Is Surgically Removed When We Find Our Joy

Joy for those of us with PTSD is a lost remedy.
When our minds repeat trauma sorrow is all we see.

Even those who have degrees start the destructive disk over in therapy.
Each recall to remembrance in the mind’s rubble rekindles it you see.

Without this blissful feeling the devil keeps trauma revealing.
When we are asked to live the events over and again it is stealing.

What is it that is stolen you might ask today?
Our ability to feel happiness is what I would say.

This becomes a heavenly battle where to win God must lead.
The enemy is like a virus ...
