All around they look and stare
Those who sent them into battle
Close there eyes and no longer care

The young man he had wandered many a mile and more
Cross foreign lands, and countless seas, to reach a distant shore
Driven by the hope's he held implanted as they'd been
Deep within the wickerwork of life's eternal dream

The past, a dark and foreboding place
Memories clouded by the mists of time
I look back and wonder at what could have been
If a change of step, a path or hill to climb

My life is not that of reality
But the world of fantasy
Locked within my dreams
That they become so vivid
