Robert Schindel Poems

The same old inner-life unsheathed,
adrift, holding fast
to what remains unbroken.
...

And while the outside world rattles
with endless rubble, juddering until,
slamming doors and knocking chandeliers,
it crumples into the core of trembling heart,
...

Before me, the wine
is quietly shaking
in its goblet, afraid
that I will pour it
