Falling Down

Falling down
Falling down
The people trust
The people drown

The wings of life
The silk of death
The beating heart
The icy breath

The first that fall
Their aim is short
They never hoped
They never thought

The second down
Have shot too far
They too soon trust
In ghost and star

Down and down
They fight for air
With sinking dreams
And rusting prayer

The last then left
The ones who swam
Alive in peace
Less lie and scam

The ones who breathe
At last anoint
Their tired minds
Their lasting point

In time they too
Soon humbly drown
With smile and grace
They're falling down
