Roger M.J. De Neef Biography

Roger M.J. de Neef was born in 1941 in Wemmel, Belgium. He worked for many years as journalist for the press agency Belga and was jazz-commentator at the Belgian radio. Since 2000 he is volunteer in a Palliative care center. He has published several volumes of poetry. Frequently reappearing themes in his poems are art and jazz. For example he dedicates a cycle of poems to the French-Dutch painter Bram van Velde, who is admired by him. As well Roger de Neef writes art critical essays.)

With the colours of a body
Where I coloured you
The body in body
The tree listens to its fruit.
