Adrift

The longer I remained adrift, the more my icy heart began to freeze as the warm starlight dwindled into the background. Being alone in the vastness may have allowed for self-reflection, but with no light even a reflection becomes obscured. I longed to be captured by the gravity of a new star and as we drew closer, my icy interior would once again begin to thaw and the dust from the stars would interchange before inevitably I move on my charted course.

As my heart once again began to freeze, I longed for the connection like that which is shared between the planets and the stars. Their courses forever entangled, their symbiosis a perfect balance, together they shine and function as one. Their synchronicity the model example for all things in the Universe for life itself depends on it.
