First time I ever asked
How would you love?
You said it be in the arms of your mother
It be in the safety of your brother's fun

Quiet with a friend of the mind
Is where you're okay
Is where you want to stay
I vowed that you're loved

Mountains steal your stories
Steal your breath, as the clouds do
Your arms reach through trees as if
You can see you on the other side

I crack through your diamond sea
Again, I'm drowning, losing
Remember the time we wept
Rain's still rain when you're happy

Second time I cried
Why would you love?
March was hard for all of us
I still need those same glasses

We're moving to mars
Robbing the dust, drinking the flares
Right now we're alive and drunk
I don't regret the day
We swam through our hearts

Inseparable, we haven't glowed yet
We lost the chance before we knew

Quiet with your friend of the heart
Is where I'm okay
Is where I want you to be
I'm adored

We'll steer there again
We were just now
Under the tree with no branches
Is there a reason you're looking at me
Is there a reason I'm kissing you now

Your father's words hide
In the chilling warmth of a woman
How could I know something you don't
About what you think of at night

Third time I was silent
But you answered with a story
I see your eyes when I close mine
Those big brown beautiful eyes
